Scott Greene was born in Shelby, North Carolina, and raised in Bessemer City. From an early age, he knew he wanted to help others through funeral service. As a teenager, he spent countless hours around the local funeral home and began working there part-time at the age of 16 while attending Bessemer City High School, graduating in 1984.

In 1985, Scott married Tammy Costner, and together they have built a life centered on faith, family, and service. Following his graduation from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1987, Scott and Tammy settled in Gastonia, where they spent many years raising their family and serving the community. Today, they call Kings Mountain home and cherish time spent with their children, Jonathon Greene and his wife, Jamie Parker Greene, and Erica Calaway and her husband, Joe Calaway, as well as their four grandchildren, Ensley, Nataley, Elliot, and Aiden.

For more than 35 years, Scott has dedicated his life to serving families throughout Gaston County and the surrounding communities. In addition to his work in funeral service, he has been a certified law enforcement officer since 1990. Throughout his law enforcement career, he has served with the Gaston County Sheriff's Office, Cherryville Police Department, Grover Police Department, and Ranlo Police Department. Today, he continues to serve the community through his ongoing work with the Ranlo Police Department.

Scott has been involved with numerous civic and community organizations throughout his career. He has served on the Civil Service Board of Gaston County Police, the Advisory Board for Fidelity Bank, and the Bessemer City Chamber of Commerce. A lifelong man of faith, he is a member of Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He is also a member of Whitestone Lodge No. 515 A.F. & A.M. in Bessemer City.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Scott enjoys amateur radio, researching family genealogy, and restoring and working on classic automobiles and trucks. Above all, he values time spent with family and friends and considers it a privilege to help families honor the lives of their loved ones. His commitment to compassionate service, integrity, and community involvement continues to guide both his personal and professional life.

Tammy Greene

Co-Owner | CFO | Funeral Director | Embalmer

Tammy Costner Greene has spent most of her life in Gaston County, North Carolina, where she has built a life centered on faith, family, and service to her community. A 1985 graduate of Hunter Huss High School, Tammy continued her education at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1987.

Since 1985, Tammy has been married to her husband, Scott Greene. Together they have raised two children, Jonathon Greene and Erica Calaway. Their family has continued to grow with the addition of four beloved grandchildren: Ensley Greene, Nataley Greene, Elliot Calaway, and Aiden Calaway, who bring tremendous joy and pride to her life.

A faithful member of Love Valley Baptist Church, Tammy is actively involved in the church's ministries. She sings in the choir and participates in the bus ministry, finding great fulfillment in serving others and sharing her faith. Her commitment to her church community reflects the values that have guided her throughout her life.

When she is away from the funeral home, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Much of her free time is devoted to church activities, family gatherings, and creating lasting memories with those she loves most. She also enjoys relaxing on the back porch with a good book, appreciating the quiet moments and simple blessings of life.

Through her dedication to her family, faith, and profession, Tammy has touched the lives of countless people throughout Gaston County and remains a valued member of both her community and her church..

Jonathon Greene

Vice President | Crematory Manager | Funeral Director | Embalmer

Jonathon Greene is a licensed funeral director and embalmer with Greene Funeral Service &
Crematorium in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was born in Rock Hill, SC but was raised in Gastonia.
He is a graduate of Tabernacle Christian Academy in Dallas, North Carolina, where
he completed his high school education in 2007. He earned
an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from Fayetteville Technical Community College in
2010. As part of a family dedicated to serving the community, Jonathon is committed to
helping families navigate one of life's most difficult moments with compassion, dignity, and
personalized care.

Having grown up in the funeral profession, Jonathon understands the importance of
honoring each life in a meaningful way. He works closely with families to create services
that reflect the unique story, values, and legacy of their loved one. Whether assisting with
traditional funerals, memorial services, or cremation arrangements, he strives to provide
guidance, support, and attention to every detail.

Jonathon is married to his wife, Jamie Greene, and together they have two daughters, Ensley
and Natalie. Outside of his work at Greene Funeral Service, Jonathon's greatest priorities are
his faith and family. He enjoys spending time with his family and being involved in their
church and community activities.

Faith plays an important role in Jonathon's life. He and his family are active members of
Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, where they enjoy participating in special
singing and serving in the church choir together. Jonathon also serves as a bass guitarist for
the choir, sharing that ministry with his father, Scott Greene. Along with his involvement in
church, he is a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge No. 505 A.F. & A.M.

Jamie Greene

Bookkeeper | Funeral Director Intern

Jamie Greene serves families with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others during some of life's most difficult moments. She completed the Funeral Directing Program at Fayetteville Technical Community College in 2026, furthering her commitment to serving families with excellence and care. Jamie is a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby, North Carolina, Class of 2009.

As part of the Greene Funeral Service team, Jamie brings a caring spirit and attention to detail that helps families feel supported throughout the funeral planning process. She is dedicated to providing personalized service and helping each family create meaningful tributes that honor the lives of their loved ones.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Jamie's greatest joy is her faith and family. She is married to Jonathon Greene, and together they are blessed with twin daughters, Ensley and Nataley. The Greene family are active members of Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, where they worship and serve together. Jamie enjoys singing in church alongside her family and values the opportunity to share her faith through serving others and fellowship.

When she is not serving families or participating in church activities, Jamie enjoys spending quality time with her family, creating lasting memories with her husband and daughters, baking for family and friends, and traveling. Her dedication to faith, family, and service guides both her personal life and her work in the funeral profession.

Ron Bailey

General Manager | Funeral Director | Embalmer

Ron Bailey is a native of Kings Mountain, NC, a 1999 Graduate of Kings Mountain High school, and a 2002 Graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College. He has been in the funeral industry since 1999 and considers it an honor to take care of families at their most difficult time, the loss of a loved one. He served his apprenticeship at a funeral firm in Hickory and was employed there for over two years. He has been at Greene Funeral Service since 2001. He resides in Gastonia and enjoys serving this great community that he is blessed to call home. He is Licensed as a Funeral Director and embalmer in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

Rodney Sellers

Rodney was born in Lumberton, NC and graduated from Hunter Huss High School in 1993. He was a manager at multiple restaurants for many years, but is now attending college to receive his Funeral Service License. He loves to travel and spend time with his family. He is looking forward to helping the families of our community.

Brandon Graham

Funeral Director | Embalmer | Crematory Tech

Brandon Graham is a lifelong resident of Gastonia, North Carolina, where he has spent most of his life serving his community through public safety, emergency services, and funeral service. A graduate of South Point High School's Class of 2005, Brandon has devoted his career to helping others and providing compassionate care to those in need.

Throughout the years, Brandon has served with the South Point Fire Department, Cramerton Fire Department, Belmont Fire Department, Spencer Mountain Fire Department, Stanley Rescue, South Point Lifesaving Crew, and Gaston Lifesaving Crew. During his time with the South Point Lifesaving Crew, he served as a Lieutenant, demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving his community. Brandon also served for many years with the Gaston County Sheriff's Office, further reflecting his dedication to public service and the well-being of others.

In 2026, Brandon graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, earning his degree in Funeral Service. His extensive background in emergency response, law enforcement, and funeral service has equipped him with the experience, compassion, and understanding needed to assist families during some of life's most difficult moments.

Brandon has been married to his wife, Angie, since 2010. Together they have a daughter, Summer, who is the center of their family life. Brandon values faith, family, and service, and he remains committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the families and communities he serves.

This combination of public service experience, professional education, and dedication to helping others continues to define Brandon's approach to both his career and his community involvement.

Kelly S. Roper was born in Gastonia, NC and was raised in Stanley. She was a 1983 graduate of East Gaston High School and attended Gaston College. She has been employed with Greene Funeral Service since 2011 and enjoys helping families we serve during their time of need and afterwards. Kelly enjoys traveling, flower gardening, hiking and spending time with family and friends, especially her husband Jeff.

Jack Stewart

Family Services

Jack Stewart was born January 21, 1935 and has been working for Greene Funeral Service since 2004. He is a charter member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church and is the Field Director for Fundamental Baptist Home Missions, both in Bessemer City. He is a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army and is also in the Honor Guard at Bessemer City's American Legion Post 243. His hometown is Statesville, NC, but has been in Bessemer City since 1995. He is married to Marie Ellis, who was born and raised in Bessemer City.
Jack Stewart says, "It is such a pleasure to work for the Greene family. They take such pride in what they do and have such great respect and compassion for all the families they serve."

Linda Nolen

Family Services

Linda was born and raised in Gastonia, NC. She has been married to her high school sweetheart since 1959. They are proud parents of four children, Robin, Deborah, Mart, and Jimmy; seven grandchildren, and four great grand-children.

She worked as the Food Director at First United Methodist Church of Gastonia for 27 years and operated Gaston Catering for 30 years. Linda enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Linda was a Girl Scout Leader, Past President of the National Association of Church Food Service, where she also served as trustee. She has been a faithful member of First Wesleyan Church of Gastonia since 1957.

Roy Gladson

Family Services

Roy was born in Louisville KY and grew up all over the country as his dad was in the military and later retail management. After several years living in places such as Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri, his family settled back in the Kansas City area, home to both sets of grandparents. He graduated from Blue Springs Highschool in 1979. He continued his education receiving his bachelor’s degree-Management, Summa Cum Laude from Park University in Parkville Missouri in 1993.



He is a retired long-term Healthcare Professional and Hospital Administrator. Healthcare consulting is what brought him to North Carolina in 2007. Roy has a long history of community leadership, service and serving on several non-profit boards. He received many accolades and awards for various projects and volunteering. He is a member of the Lutheran faith and enjoys spending time at home with family, friends and his fur kids. He has lived in Gastonia since 2020.



Roy fulfills his life mission of “Helping Others” by serving families in their times of need and providing comfort and compassion as they honor their loved ones.

Pastor Sam Barnette

Pastoral Care

Reverend Sam Barnette grew up in Gastonia and continues to call it home, where he has faithfully served his community through ministry for more than 40 years. He is the retired Associate Pastor of South Gastonia Church of God, where he dedicated 25 years of service to his church family. He is currently a member of North Gaston Church of God.

Throughout his ministry, Reverend Barnette has served as a chaplain in prison ministries and has provided compassionate spiritual care through hospital and hospice ministries. He is a licensed and ordained Bishop in the Church of God and remains devoted to sharing his faith and encouraging others.

In addition to his commitment to ministry, Reverend Barnette was a loving and devoted husband to his late wife, Jan Barnette, for 35 years. He is also the proud father of his daughter, Jessica, who has been a cherished blessing in his life

Pastor Johnny Yarboro

Pastoral Care

Pastor Johnny Yarboro grew up in Kings Mountain, spent a decade in the USAF, and
returned home to work in mechanics and trucking. It was then that he was called to
pastor. He attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in 2001 and later graduated with a
Master’s in Theology from Covington Theological Seminary. He has pastored in three
churches and has been Associate Pastor of Discipleship at Grace Baptist Church in
Gastonia since 2017 where he leads music and weekday discipleship/teaching classes.
Pastor Yarboro is a strong believer in the importance of the teaching ministry of the
church and that people perish without biblical knowledge and that that is why God calls
pastor/teachers. In his personal life, Pastor Yarboro has been married to his wife, Sonia,
since 1987 and has four adult children and two grandchildren. He enjoys golf and fixing
almost everything. He sees helping others with his practical skills as part of his calling in
addition to teaching. He has served along side of Greene’s Funeral service since 2018.

Pastor Ken Faulkenbury

Pastor Faulkenbury was licensed as a minister in 1956 and was ordained in 1958. Pastor Faulkenbury has helped churches from building programs to radio broadcast and out reach programs and lead churches in attendance and grow of membership. Pastor Faulkenbury has over 62 years of ministry and seen alot of people who came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord. The burden of Pastor Faulkenbury's heart is Preach the Gospel,win the lost and develop and strengthen the church family spiritually. He believes in visiting and caring in times of need is a vital part of a Christ Centered Ministry. Pastor Faulkenbury seeks the leadership and direction from the Holy Ghost in each decision that he makes, so that it will be done in Gods will and for Gods glory.
