Phyllis Shank Wykle

Phyllis Shank Wykle, 82 years old, resided at Belaire health care center. Passed away peacefully at her residents February 9, 2020.
She was born January 3, 1938 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Loren Shank and Norma Shank.
Phyllis was loved by many, and had a smile that would brighten your day.
Phyllis loved her family, and loved visiting with her grandkids, great grandkids, and friends. She loved country music and was crazy about Elvis Presley. In her younger days she loved to dance and hang out with her friends and sometimes play cards. Phyllis lived life and embraced every day. She like to reminisce about years gone by with family and friends, and would work word search puzzles in her spare time, and loved coloring books. Phyllis was loved by everyone that knew her and will be missed by them all.
She was predeceased by her Father Loren Shank, her Mother Norma Shank, her daughter Connie Hammack, and her great grandson Ryder O'Neal
Phyllis is survived by her husband James Wykle Sr.; sons, James Wykle Jr. and wife Beth, Michael Wykle and wife Cindy; daughters, Phyllis Wykle, Corrie Wykle Boone and Debbie Wykle White and husband Jimmy (Bo). Phyllis had 19 grandchildren that she helped to mold into the wonderful adults they are today, 38 great-grandchildren, and 1 very special little great-great-grandson.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Chris Doster, will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
