James Clarence Mosteller

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Clarence Mosteller, fondly known as "Big Jimmy", who left us on April 18, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on June 15, 1961, in South Carolina, James spent most of his life in Dallas, North Carolina, where he built a reputation as a hardworking roofer. He dedicated many years of his life working with Long Brothers Roofing, showing an unwavering commitment to his craft. He had a passion for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and the Duke Blue Devils, and you could always count on him to be the loudest fan in the room during game days.

James was more than just a roofer; he was a proud husband to his beloved wife, Rebecca; and is also survived by his children, Tasha Norwood (James), Jimmy Mosteller, and Heather Mosteller (Michael Hilton); a doting grandfather to Meagan McQueen, Jillian Norwood, Hayden Hilton, Nathaniel Hilton, and Aaliyah Hilton, who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Mosteller Jr. (Deborah), Loretta Jumper (Tony) and Patricia Cole (Mark); fur baby Lady Bug.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of James as we celebrate his life. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 29, at 2:00 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service 1503 S York Rd. Gastonia. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, from 6 - 8 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025. The family would also like to invite everyone to Tasha Norwood's Home following the funeral.

James was preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Frances Mosteller; daughter, Alicia Mosteller; granddaughter, Skylar Sinquefield; sisters, Barbara Melton and Debra Greene.
