Earl Murrell Payne, Jr.

Earl M. Payne, Jr, 62, of Iron Station, NC, passed away September 13, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born March 7, 1962, in Gastonia, NC, to the late Earl and Mary Payne.

Earl was a man of God and put God and family first. He was a hard worker and lived to provide for his family. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing any chance he had.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Victoria Payne; grandson, Anthony Payne; son-in-law, Kenneth Evans; and sister Jane Bingham.

Earl is survived by his daughters, Tonya Lambert and husband Robert, Tina Evans, Kimberly McCaslin and husband Jay, and Erica Higdon and husband Timothy; son, Anthony Payne; grandchildren, Dylan, Lily, Adrian, Kaitlyn, Megan, AJ, Victoria, Eli, Weston, TJ, and Harper; and sisters, Carolyn White, Sandy Foster, Pat Johnson, and Brenda Funderburk.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2024, one hour prior to the service, 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Maranatha Baptist Church, 104 Downey Lake Road, Dallas, NC, 28034.

A service to celebrate Earl's life, officiated by Pastor Chris Doster and Jay McCaslin, will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Maranatha Baptist Church, 104 Downey Lake Road, Dallas, NC, 28034. Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC
