Yvonne "Von" W. Plyler

Yvonne "Von" W. Plyler, 77, of Gastonia, passed away February 23, 2018 at her residence.

She was born November 14, 1940 in Gaston County, daughter of the late E.P. Wilson and Thelma McMahan.

Mrs. Plyler was a life-time member of Yorkwood Church of God in Gastonia.

Von was a loving mother and grandmother and was a caregiver for her daughter.

She was a pastor's wife for many years and was always ready to help in the church whenever needed.

She never met a stranger, and everyone who met her loved her.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred and daughter, Susie.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Rick Jones; daughters, Dianne Hill and Linda Anderson and husband Otis; grandchildren, Brian, Amanda, Joe, Reggie, Heather, and Misty; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Christina, Travis, Tyson, Samuel, Cammie, Eddie, Jacob, Jeremy, Luke, Drew, Deanna, and Samuel.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Otis Anderson of Winston Salem will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
