Winnie Viola Summey

Winnie Viola Hamrick Summey, 75, of Dallas passed away March 19, 2017 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 7, 1942 in Chester County, SC, the daughter of the late James Hamrick and Florence Ramey Hamrick.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons Landon "Doug" Summey and wife Julie of Dallas and Leonard Summey and wife Lisa of Clayton; daughter Lisa Summey Daly and husband John of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Jessica and Adam Blackman, Jonathan Summey, Landis Summey, Hunter Summey, Sterling Summey, Emma Summey, Bowen Summey, Larson Summey, Jacob Daly, Lydia and Ryan Keeney, Jordan Daly and Lillian Daly and beloved friend Glenda Mason.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Loy Summey and brothers Rocky, Joe and JW Hamrick.

Special thanks to the staffs of Lakewood Care Center in Denver, Lincolnton Rehabilitation and Lincoln County Hospice for your loving care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to the Hospice in your county.

A funeral service, officiated by Revs. Jim Holt and Tom Nussbaum will be held 1 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Gardens.
