Wilma Scarborough Nelson

Wilma Scarborough Nelson, 72, of Cherryville, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 3, 1943, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Truman Lee Stephens and LeeAnne Harrell Stephens.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, one grandson, and one granddaughter.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Michael Nelson; sons, Keith Perkins and wife, Lynn, Dwight Perkins and wife, Anna, Timmy Nelson and wife, Vickie, Mike Nelson, and wife, Lea; daughters, Tammy Cash and husband, Ricky, Donna Haskin and husband, Jimmy, and Larissa Shuffler and husband, Chris; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:30pm on Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church, 5008 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. Gerry Davis and Tim Small will be officiating.

The family will receive friends 1:00-2:30pm before the service at the church.

Interment will be held at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
