Willis Macklee Summey

Willis Macklee Summey, 81, of Gastonia, passed away July 22, 2015 at Woodlawn Haven Assisted Living in Mt. Holly. He was born June 12, 1934, son of the late Thurman L. Summey and Roselie McCreight Summey. Willis was a member of Davis Memorial. He drove a bus for Trailways for 23 years and was a truck driver for 16 years, but his heart was in Trailways. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 61 years, Vera; sons, Michael Summey and wife Vickie, Marty Summey and wife Renee; sisters, Betty Jean Hawkins and Patricia Clinton; grandchildren, Chad Summey and wife Jessica, Mitchell Summey and wife Jane, Leslie Crawford and husband Ben and great-grandchild Aiden Summey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers. A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Ken Lane and Larry McAllister. The family will receive friends 7 - 9 pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
