William Eugene Welch

William "Billy" Eugene Welch, 45, of Taylors, SC, went to his eternal home July 7, 2024, at his home.

Billy was born October 1, 1978, in Gaston County.

Billy graduated from Hunter Huss High School. He was employed with Aramark at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. He had instilled in him to be a hard worker from an early age since he grew up on a farm.

He loved his family and always put others first before himself. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He had a passion for cooking and at one point in his life wanted to attend culinary school.

Billy was preceded in death by his father William Stanley Welch.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Rebecca Marshburn; sisters, Stacey Welch and Krystal DeBruler and husband Mark; brothers, Andrew Gunn and Randolph Gunn; nieces Britney McVay, Taylor McVay and Brianna Hoyle.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Richard Stroup.

The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
