William Dale Waters

William Dale Waters, 59, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022.

Beloved son of William Warren and Frances C. Waters. Born December 21, 1962, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Winterville, NC, after a short illness.

Dale is survived by his wife Diane Sokol Waters of the home; daughters, Samantha Englehart and husband Matthew, Courtney Waters and by grandson Elliott Englehart all of Stow, Ohio; parents, Warren and Frances Waters of Gastonia, NC; sister, Tina Waters of Gastonia, NC.; brother, Timothy Waters and wife Shannon of Gastonia, NC; and by a number of nieces and nephews – Also survived by father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Patricia Sokol of Uniontown, PA.

Dale was a graduate of North Gaston High School of Dallas, NC., Gaston College, Dallas, NC., UNC of Charlotte, NC, also went to work on his master's degree at ECU, Greenville, NC.

He worked for Burroughs – Welcome in Greenville, NC. After spending 10 years there he moved his family to Stow, Ohio – Dale moved many times for his work; New York, New Jersey, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio – He ended up back in North Carolina in Greeneville, NC for Thermo – Fisher Science. He loved his work and was always eager to learn more.

Dale was greatly loved by all his family and friends and will be forever missed.

A memorial service officiated Rev. Sam Barnette will be held 12pm, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
