William Bryan Powell Iii

William Bryan Powell, III, 55, of Gastonia, passed away February 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1959 in Barnwell County, SC, son of Mary Frances Powell and William Bryan Powell, Jr. William was a loving husband and devoted father. His grandson was his buddy. He was a simulator engineer for twenty seven years for US Air. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, sailing and being on the water. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Linda Powell; daughters, Bailee Nicole Powell and Wendy Marie Shaw and husband, Stephen; sister, Marian Powell Sheets and grandson, Kaden Michael Shaw. There will be a gathering of friends 3 - 5 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society - 1901 Brunswick Ave., Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
