William Ralph Payne, Sr.

William Ralph Payne, Sr., 81, of Gastonia, passed away August 7, 2020 at his home.

He was born February 10, 1939 in Maysville County, Georgia, to the late Earl Payne and Lucille Ray Payne.

Mr. Payne was a veteran of the United States Army.  He retired from Globe Manufacturing after several years of service.  He was a member of the East York Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sibble White.

Mr. Payne is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Arretta Hoffman Payne; daughters, Patti Dulin and husband Bobby, and Susan Gambill and husband, Greg; son, William Payne Jr., and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Brandon Payne, Jessica Johnston, Aly Trevino, and Annie Payne; step grandchildren,  Alease and Ross Gambill; and step great-grandchild, Kayzyn Hood.

The family will host a virtual memorial service from the home on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 3:00 pm.
