William Robert Mauney

William Robert Mauney, 82, of Gastonia, passed away December 2, 2013 at The Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born April 6, 1931 in Union County, Georgia, to the late William Roy Mauney and Willie Nicholson Mauney. Mr. Mauney served in the Korean War in the US Army. He was a member of Beach Avenue Baptist Church of Gastonia. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, officiated by Pastors Jeff Cook and Walt Griggs. Mr. Mauney is survived by: his loving wife of over 62 years, Cleo Davidson Mauney; daughter, Perian Simpson; brothers, Raymond and Franklin Mauney; grandchildren, David Patrick Simpson Jr. and wife Jennifer, Aaresta Evans; great grandchildren, Jonathan Lyles, Sawyer Evans, Cadence Simpson.
