William "Tennessee" Junior Proffitt

William "Tennessee" Junior Proffitt, 80, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away on August 10, 2019, at his home.
He was born December 22, 1938, Cocke County Tennessee, son of the late William and Anna Proffitt.
William loved spending time with his family, and he enjoyed going to car shows.
He was a former employee of Freightliner in Gastonia and had worked as a machinist at Petty Machine Shop in Gastonia.
He enjoyed cooking out with his friends and being quite a prankster.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Westview Gardens,1123 Edgewood Road Bessemer City, officiated by Brother Robert Falby.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
William is survived by his loving wife of 59 years,  Lennie Euretha Proffitt; sons, Dale Vernon Proffitt and wife, Dottie of Bessemer City, Tommy Wade Proffitt of Blacksburg, SC.; grandchildren, Jimmy Dale, Christopher Proffitt, T.J. Proffitt and wife, Brandi, Misty Retana ; great-grandchildren, Liam Proffitt, Landon and Makayla Proffitt, Damion Revels, Morgan Etters.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Joe Proffitt; sisters, Dolly Mae Campbell, Vickie Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County P.O. Box 1886 Gaffney, SC 29342.
