William Laring Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Laring Jones, who left us on May 28, 2026, just days after celebrating his 87th birthday. Born on May 24, 1939, William touched the lives of everyone around him with his warmth, humor, and kindness.

William was a loving husband of 68 years to Joyce Hager Jones; and father to his children, Tony Jones, Ricky Jones, Dana Cagle (Mark), and Lisa Jones who will cherish his memory forever. He is also survived by a brother, Gerald Jones; sister Nellie Gail Jones and 2 other sisters; grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Cole Cagle, Wendy Poarch, Toni Marie Jones and Jayden Jones; 8 great grandchildren. He had a knack for making people smile, he also enjoyed hunting and gardening.

In honor of William's incredible life, we will be holding a private service by the family.

William, you will be missed dearly. Thank you for all the joy you brought into our lives. Until we meet again.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Posey and Evelyn Barnes Jones; one sister.
