William Jerry Humpries

William "Jerry" Humphries Sr., went to see Jesus on August 1, 2012. He was born February 8, 1942 in Taylorsville, NC son of the late William Clemmie and Eva Joy Humphries. Mr. Humphries was the owner of Humphries Textile Parts for 40 years. He was a member of Holland Memorial Lodge # 668. The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th floor at Gaston Memorial Hospital and a special thank you to Dr. Harpreet Bhalla for his wonderful care and friendship. A graveside service will be held 4:30 on Sunday at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City officiated by Pastor Don Mott and Rev. Richard Lewis. The family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, Gastonia. Mr. Humphries is survived by: his loving wife of over 51 years, Edith McClain Humphries of the home; son, Jerry Humphries Jr. and wife Nelda of Dallas,; daughter, Angela Foy and husband Robert of Gastonia; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rebecca Foy of Gastonia; special cousins, Benny Millwood, Jean Grass, Dianne Wommack and Ann Quinn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: brothers, Walter, Billy , James, Edward, Thomas, Bobby,and Jack Humphries.
