William Houston Harmon, 82 of 508 E. Maryland Ave., died July 9, 2012 at Alexandria Place of Gastonia. He was born April 1, 1930 in Gaston County, son of the late "Little" Dave Harmon and Fannie Paysour Harmon. Mr. Harmon was a veteran of the US Air Force. A memorial service will be 1:00 pm Thursday July 12, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Bessemer City officiated by Pastor Preston Davis. Inurnment will be private with military honors. Mr. Harmon is survived by: daughter, Lisa Harmon Ryals and husband Jerry of Belton, Texas; son, William "Norman" Harmon and wife Dotty of Casar, NC; daughter in-law, Wanda Harmon of Dexter, Montana; grandchildren, Christopher David Harmon , Amanda Carlson and husband Ricky all of Dexter, Montana, William Forrest Ryals, Jeremy Russell Ryals, Emily Suzanne Ryals and Amber Dawn Watson all of Belton, Texas; 11great grandchildren; niece, Alene Adams of Bessemer City and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his son Thomas "Mark" Harmon; brother Norman Harmon; sisters, Edythe Harmon Benefield, Catherine Harmon Burleson , Ethel Harmon Cole and Iva Mae Harmon Canipe.
