Chief Deputy William "Bill" Ford, 86, of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
A native of Gaston County, he was born January 24, 1932, the son of the late Dwight and Vera Ford.
Bill was a member of West Franklin Baptist Church and Lowell Masonic Lodge #590. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War and was retired from the Gaston County Sheriff's Office after 51 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet McCarter Ford and his sister, Susie Lowe.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Rusty Ford and wife Cindy, Jeff Ford and wife Teri; daughters, Jan Bracket and husband Junior, Amy Smith and husband Marty; sisters, Dorothy Parker and Betty Sue Self; grandchildren, Jeff Thompson and wife Beth, Amber Robertson and husband Jon, Jennifer Coalson, Brittany Teague and husband Kenny, William Ford and wife Brandi; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jeff Williams and Pastor Mike Criswell will be held 1 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at West Franklin Baptist Church, 450 S. Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 pm Monday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
The Gaston County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will be providing funeral honors.
