On January 31, 2019 William A. "Butch" Hoyle finished his earthly journey and walked through the gates of Heaven. A native of Bessemer City, NC he was the son of the late A. W. and Edna Bright Hoyle. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Wilma Ruth Hoyle of the home; daughters, Cynthia Hoyle Greene, Tracey D. Hoyle and companion Todd Baker, Stephanie L. Pasour and husband Tony, Tammy Elaine Bentley and husband Curtis; stepson, Tim Maddox and companion Debbie Mendelsohn; grandchildren, Kimberly Duncan and husband David, Ashlee Simpson and husband Joshua, Mallory Alma Baker, William Baker, Christopher McPherson, Stacey Partain and husband Brandon, Mary Kathryn Dunzweiler and husband Alex, Emma Kate Pasour, Sara Beth Pasour, Timothy Maddox; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Fisk and husband Michael, Zachary Duncan, Liliana Hoyle, Gemma Partain, Logan Partain, Angel English and Taylor McPherson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dean Hoyle; granddaughter, Mandi English; brother, Steve Hoyle; sister, Mittie Hoyle Green.
An Army Veteran, he served in the 101st. and 82nd. Airborne during the Korean War. He retired from Lithium Corporation after 22 years of service.
Butch loved music, playing the guitar professionally in his younger years and after receiving Jesus Christ as his personal savior, he played the steel guitar in his church. As an Amateur Radio Operator, he loved building antennas and working DX. Now, N4LUR is a Silent Key.
He loved his wife more than anything.
The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, officiated by the Rev. Ronnie Pressley, at Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City, with military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard and the Army National Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family request all donations be made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
