William Richard "Bud" Costner

William Richard "Bud" Costner, 84, of Bessemer City, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

Bud was born March 7, 1936, in Gaston County, son of the late Russell "Runt" Costner and Beatrice "Bea" Costner.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Hardin Community Baptist Church. Bud retired from K & P Trucking and was a long distant truck driver for over 60 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye "Tooger" Steelman Costner and granddaughter, Beverly Dills.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Cheri Shull and husband, Steve, Kimberly McBee and husband, Frank; son, Gregory Costner; sisters, Sandra Conrad and husband, James, Sue Ann Payne and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Amy Dills, Travis Shull, Dustin McBee; great grandson, Tyler Bess and wife, Ally; great, great granddaughter, Paisley-Faye Bess.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, at Hardin Community Baptist Church Cemetery, 548 Hardin Rd, Dallas, NC 28034. Pastor Justin Driver will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hardin Community Baptist Church.
