William Hobert Blakley

William Hobert Blakley, 68, of Gastonia, passed away July 25, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born May 28, 1955, in McDowell County, West Virginia, son of the late David McKinley Blakley and Rosie Woody Blakley.

William had been an avid CB radio operator for many years and his call sign was "Lonesome Pine".

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, July 28, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, officiated by Pastor Sammy Oxendine.

The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens in Mount Holly.

William is survived by his siblings, Yvonne Lunsford of Clover, SC, Harvey Blakley and wife Pat of Gastonia, Judy Morris of Gastonia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
