William Joseph "Joe" Bell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Joseph Bell, lovingly known as Joe, who left us on September 20, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on October 30, 1952, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Joe spent his life dedicated to family, work, and the joys of nature.

Joe was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara Bell; daughter, Crystal May (Chad); son, Jason Jackson (Brandy); daughter in law, Rocio Bell; sisters, Diane Smith (Ernie), Wanda Murchison, and Lynn Burch; grandchildren, Alex Bell, Eric Bell, Wyatt May, Tristan May, Savanna May, Mason May, Destanie Evans, Austin Jackson, and Summer Moore; great grandchildren, Copelyn Bell, Easton Evans, and Revenna Jackson.

Joe was welcomed home by his parents, Charles and Sarah Bell; son, Gene Bell; brother in law, Terry Murchison; his baby Yorkie Gidget.

Joe, brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met, never meeting a stranger and always ready with a friendly word or smile. His love for hard work was evident during his lengthy career at RL Stowe Mills, where he served as a supervisor.

Joe was known for taking pride in his beautiful yard, where he cherished watching the birds, deer, and other wildlife that visited. A true Southern gentleman, he had a special affinity for Diet Sun Drop and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life.

To honor Joe's memory, a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bobby Harrison, will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with a visitation taking place starting at 2:00 PM.

Joe was loved by many and will be missed dearly. In his honor, let us remember the kindness he shared and the love he gave so generously throughout his life.
