William George Barnes, Jr.

William George Barnes, Jr., 56, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

He was born August 2, 1965, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late William George Barnes, Sr. and Rickie Gail Bingham Ledford.

William was a hard working and loving husband, father, brother, son, and pop-pop. He was a mechanic for more than 30 years of his life. He enjoyed fishing, taking out his boat, football (the South Point Raiders), and spending quality time with his family. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt of his back. His most prized possession was his mustang and being a club member of his mustang mafia family.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Wendy Barnes; who he called mother and father, Brenda and Rick Ledford; son, Zach Barnes and fiancé, Allissa Brittain; daughters, Brandie McDonald and husband, Ricky, and Lacie Harris and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Elijah Barnes, Jaxen Harris, Karson McDonald, and Kyliegh McDonald; brother, Dennis Barnes and wife, Melissa; sister, Sherry Gaston and husband, Keith; extended sisters, Stephanie Bame and Shanna Hoyle; extended brother, Jared Frady; nieces, Mikayla Barnes, Heather Caffery, and Tasha Akers; and nephew, Shane Barnes.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor, 4pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Biggerstaff Park - 144 Leisure Ln, Dallas, NC 28034.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Transplant Center at Levine Hospital.
