Willard Harrison Ammons

Willard Harrison Ammons, 90, of Gastonia, passed away January 27, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1924 in Sylva, NC the son of the late Dewy Harrison and Martha Jane Ammons. Willard was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Gastonia. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Peggy Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lee Ammons and brothers, Robert, Sam and Roy Ammons and Glenn Gipson. A funeral service will be held 3:30 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel - 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., officiated by the Rev. Leo Kuykendall. The family will receive friends 2 - 3:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Westview Gardens. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
