Wilbert LeRoy Warner, 74, of Iron Station, passed away May 24, 2012 at Palliative Care Ctr. and Hospice of Catawba, Newton, NC. He was born July 1, 1937 in Olympia, Washington, son of the late Chet and Ruth Warner. Mr. Warner was retired from the US Air Force, having served in Vietnam. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday at New Vision Ministries church cemetery, 661 Clarks Creek Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092, officiated by Rev. Scott Mann. He is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Sharon Beard Warner of the home; sons, Phillip Warner and wife, Amber of Columbia, SC, Tommy Stiles and wife, Debbie of Lincolnton; daughters, Melodie Mahan and husband, Ron of Meridian, ID, Susie Clark and husband, Jason of Garden City, ID, Sherry Pineda of Gastonia, Cindy Stiles of Gastonia, Gail Costner and husband, John of Dallas; sisters, Ruth E. Schrawyer and husband, LeRoy of Livermore, CA, Margaret Borden and husband, Jack of Olympia, WA, Sharon Clapper and husband, Gordon of Rogersville, TN; sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; Pyxie his beloved dog; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a son, Greg Warner; brother, Clifford Warner; sisters, Ellen Homer and Lillian Krume.
