Wesley "Bill" Lingerfeldt

Wesley "Bill" Lingerfeldt, 78, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, at his home and he did it his way.

He was born March 29, 1945, in Gaston County, son of the late Paul Alexander Lingerfeldt and Lucille Scism Lingerfeldt.

Bill was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Bessemer City.

He worked at FMC for over 26 years and he also worked with the North Carolina State DOT for over 7 years.

One of his favorite places to eat was at Catalina's/ Creekside Grill.

He enjoyed spending time outside around his goldfish pond and waterfall.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Smyrna Cemetery in Bessemer City, officiated by Rev. John Jackson.

The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service at the cemetery.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edith Landers Lingerfeldt; children, Richard "Wayne" Lingerfeldt (Debbie), Barbara Lingerfeldt, Alan Lingerfeldt (Kim); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one due in December; brother, Michael P. Lingerfeldt (Neverlyn).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society 1901 Brunswick Avenue Suite 100 Charlotte NC 28207.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
