It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Ronette Long, who left us on September 29, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on August 12, 1966, in Gaston County to the late Donald and Brenda Long. Wendy lived a life filled with love and cherished memories, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.

A proud graduate of Bessemer City High School, class of 1984, Wendy pursued her passions with enthusiasm and dedication. As a devoted member of Regan Wesleyan Church in Gastonia, she embraced her faith and built lasting connections within her community.

Wendy was a devoted family member, whose love for her family was palpable. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, creating memories that will live on in their hearts. Her passions extended beyond family, as she enjoyed sharing delightful moments with friends, exploring literature, and watching her favorite classic television shows.

An ardent sports fan, Wendy supported the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Panthers with fervent enthusiasm, celebrating each victory and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow fans.

Wendy's warmth and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday October 5, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor John Harper. The family will receive friends 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

Wendy is survived by her brother Scott Long ( Robin); niece, Amanda Long; nephews, Jonathan Long, Jacob Long, Brendan Long; great-nephews, Jayden, Jonah, and Julian Johnson.
