It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Tadlock, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us suddenly at his home on July 8, 2026. Born on October 4, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Wayne was a remarkable man whose presence was felt deeply by all who knew him.
Wayne was the cherished son of Bonnie and Grady Tadlock, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. A proud graduate of West Mecklenburg High School in 1965, he went on to pursue a career in law enforcement starting in July 1969. For 17 years, Wayne served his community with dedication and honor, before transitioning into a successful career in sales with Sonitrol Security Services. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly after retirement as he ventured into the restaurant business and worked as a private detective.
In 1966, Wayne married the love of his life, Cama Vesloski Tadlock. Together, they crafted a life enriched with travel, a shared passion for NASCAR, and the joy of raising their daughter, Jennifer. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, lasting until Cama's passing in January 2010. In recent years, Wayne found companionship and joy in his relationship with Beverly Popwell of Mount Holly, sharing travels and cherished moments together.
Wayne was a man of many interests. An avid golfer and astute investor, he also found great pleasure in the simple joys of life-reading, spending quality time with those he loved, and savoring moments of tranquility on his front porch with a good cigar and a fine glass of single malt scotch. Known for being highly opinionated yet undeniably lovable, Wayne's warmth and wit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Wayne is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Tadlock Floyd, and her husband, Jason Floyd. He was the proud grandfather of Greyson Lodge Floyd, who is married to Tamela, and Carter Laws Floyd, who is married to DeAnna. His legacy continues in the spirit of his great-grandson, Colton David Floyd. Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Cama, and his brother, Roger Tadlock.
A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, located at 1503 S York Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Wayne's honor to: Samaritans Purse - PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 - www.samaritanspurse.org, an organization that was close to his heart. Wayne's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he loved and missed dearly.
We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing black and instead, wear colorful Hawaiian shirts or bright tropical colors. This reflects Waynes' joyful spirit. We hope that you will help us honor his memory and thank you for your love and support, it means more to our family than words can express.
