Wayne Morris, Sr

Wayne Morris, Sr, 69, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 10, 1948, a native of Gaston County, the son of late Autie Morris and Dovie Hamby.
Wayne loved his family and his fur babies, Guinevere and Rocky. He enjoyed the outdoors, and never met a stranger and loved to help others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bobby, John, Howard and twin brother Wade; his sisters, Garnell Auten and Frances Howard.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mary Jane McMickle Morris of over 39 years; son, Wayne Morris, Jr; daughter, Misty Anderson and husband Danny; stepchildren and families; grandchildren, Christopher and Jacob; brothers, Dean, Mack, Beatty and Reid; many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate his life will be held, 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 25, at Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastor Norman Harper Price.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm before the funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
