Wayne Lee Hardy

1947-2023

Wayne passed away at the Robin Johnson house on December 28, 2023. He was born on August 4, 1947, in Miami, Florida to the late Robert Lee Hardy and Dorothy McIver Hardy.

He graduated from Hialeah High School in 1965. After, he joined the United States Army in December 1968.

Before moving to North Carolina, Wayne worked at Bell South as a technician in Miami, then moved to Ohio and worked as Plumber Assistant at Jim Rowan's Plumbing. When he moved to North Carolina he worked at Lowe's in the plumbing department and became an active member of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bessemer City. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing along with watching the Miami Dolphins football team.

He was Survived by his Two children Jennifer Lee Hardy Correa, and Eric Wayne Hardy (Kristen). His Grandchildren, Amanda Correa, Cortney Correa, Savannah Hardy, Angel Hardy, and Addison Hardy. Wayne also has two great grandchildren Alice Vargas, and Isiah Vargas.

A Memorial Service officiated by Reverend Nick McDonald, will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, 11:00 AM, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1303 N 12th St., Bessemer City, NC 28016. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family would also like to thank the Robin Johnson House and staff for their warm comfort.
