Walter Wayne Carr

Walter Wayne Carr, 65, of Lincolnton, passed away August 24, 2022, at his home.

He was born September 17, 1956, in Gaston County, son of Walter Smith Carr and Minnie Smith Carr.

Walter was a long-time employee at South Fork Textiles.

He loved to play sports like Basketball, Pool, Horseshoes and Darts. He was an avid Cowboys fan and Dale Earnhardt fan.

Walter is survived by his son, Chris Carr (Shelia); his daughter, Felicia Baynard (James); brother, Clay Carr (Pam); grandchildren Ashley Carr, Trey Carr, Cassidy Pope, Jami Baynard; great-grandchildren, Cooper Robinson, Cash Robinson, Kayden Pope.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-4 pm Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cancer Services of Gaston County 306 South Columbia Street Gastonia, NC 28054.
