Wallace "Gene" Eugene Jenkins

Wallace Eugene "Gene" Jenkins, 85, of Lowell, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his residence.

A native of Gaston County, he was born on May 17, 1938, to the late Turner and Rosie Jenkins.

Gene worked for many years in the textile industry in the dye house.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Jenkins; seven brothers and four sisters.

Gene is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane Baker Jenkins; sons, Jimmy Jenkins (Jane), Kenny Young (Belinda); daughters, Barbara Glover (Fiancé Tony Brown), Tracey Jenkins; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC, 28052.

A funeral service officiated by Reverend Mike Criswell, will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the funeral home.

The burial will follow the service at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia.
