It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Roberts McCurry at her home, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, who peacefully departed this life on September 14, 2026, at the age of 92. Virginia was born on July 14, 1934, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Charlie Roberts and Maudie Wehunt Roberts and spent her life in Bessemer City, North Carolina, where she created a warm and loving home.

Virginia cherished her family above all else, always finding joy in the moments spent with them. Her loved ones will remember her for her infectious laughter, compassionate spirit, and unwavering support. An avid gardener, Virginia had a remarkable talent for nurturing beautiful flowers that brought color and life to her surroundings, reflecting her vibrant personality.

She also enjoyed engaging in friendly competition, often found playing cards with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter and joy. She had a unique sense of humor.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Vera Taylor (Michael), Gina Black, Sheila Neal (Mike); grandchildren, Candy Thompson (Billy), Michael Taylor Jr. (Christi), Lee Taylor (Rachel), Joshua McCurry, Christopher "Mikey' Neal; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; her beloved fur baby, Boo Boo.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Norman McCurry; sister, Anne Carfrey; son-in-law, Steve Black and her fur baby Charlie.

Virginia McCurry will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the light she brought into the lives of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
