Virginia "Jenny" Grayson

Virginia "Jenny" Grayson, born on January 31, 1930, in Cherokee County, NC, has peacefully passed away on August 1, 2024, at her residence in Gastonia, NC.

She was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and devoted wife, having been married for 57 years.

Jenny will be deeply missed by her daughters Donna Wagner (John) and Teresa Wilmoth (Gary); sons, Randy Grayson (Debbie) and Scott Grayson (Laurie); grandchildren, Lory Sibcy, Roddy Wagner, Heather Wilmoth, Justin Wilmoth, Melissa Springer, Stephen Grayson, Jenny Grayson, April Stanifer, and Adam Grayson; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great-great granddaughters; brother, Robert Spencer; sisters, Betty Meadows and Diann Rimmer; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband, Billy E. Grayson; parents, Albert and Fannie Spencer; granddaughter, Shelly Dover; sister, Louise Thompson; brother, Roy Spencer; brother in laws, Harold Meadows, Rick Rimmer, and Jimmy Thompson.

Jenny was passionate about her church, the former West Franklin Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member and active member of the WMU, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She made it a priority to instill the value of faith within her family and friends, ensuring they were present for church services regularly. She would even take any other neighborhood kids that she could.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held afterwards, at 2:00, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Richard Brown. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and dedication to her loved ones. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
