Virgil Perry

Virgil Ray Perry Sr., 91, of Kings Mountain, passed away December 4, 2015 at Carolinas HealthCare Center Cleveland in Shelby. He was born July 8, 1924 in Martin, WV, son of the late Frank and Virginia Starr Perry. Mr. Perry was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was employed with Perfecting Service Company in Charlotte for over 37 years. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 71 years, Erma Lee Perry of Kings Mountain; son, Ray Perry and wife Pat of Gastonia; daughters, Nancy Stikeleather and husband Richard of Mint Hill, Mary Starr Perry of Valdese; grandchildren, John Perry, Jenny Olsen, Ramona Anthony; and great-grandchild, Stella Olsen. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Scott Hay, will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
