Victoria "Vickie" Payne

Victoria Walters Payne, lovingly known as Vickie, passed away on August 9, 2024, at Peak Resources, Gastonia, NC. She was born on April 29, 1954, in Catawba County, NC. Vickie was a proud US citizen, having spent her life in Iron Station, NC, where she worked as a dedicated cashier in the retail industry.

Vickie was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simple things in life. She adored playing bingo and was known for her love of shopping, with Amazon being her go-to destination for all her needs. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her husband, Earl Payne of 41 years; children, Tonya Lambert (Robert), Tina Evans, Anthony Payne, Kimberly McCaslin (Jay), and Erica Higdon (Timothy); grandchildren, Dylan, Lily, Adrian, Kaitlyn, Megan, AJ, Victoria, Eli, Weston, TJ, and Harper; sisters, Shirley Worley, Linda Canipe, and Carolyn Henson.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, George Walters and Jessie Cook; grandchild, Anthony Payne; son in law, Kenneth Evans; sister, Sandy Owens.

Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at Maranatha Baptist Church, 104 Downey Lake Rd, Dallas, NC, 28034, Monday, August 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Chris Doster and Jay McCaslin, will be held at the church, starting at 3:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City.

In remembrance of Vicky, we will gather to celebrate her life and the memories she shared with us. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
