Vesta Bumgardner

Vesta Bumgardner, 86, of Kings Mountain passed away on June 4, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. She was born October 29, 1925 in Swain County daughter of the late Garrett and Ebbie Millsap Anderson. Mrs. Bumgardner was a charter member of Cherokee Street Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. She was a native of Swain County. A funeral service will be held 11:00am on Friday at Cherokee Street Baptist Church, Kings Mountain officiated by Rev. Roger Green and Rev, Herman Green. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, Gastonia. Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain. Mrs. Bumgardner is survived by: daughters and sons in-law, Mary and Leon King of Bessemer City, Bonnie and Ernest Huffstetler, Kathy and Kenneth Bullard all of Kings Mountain; brothers and sisters in-law, Charles and Sandy Anderson of Madisonville, TN, Joe Anderson, Willard and Lorine Anderson of Vonore,TN, Herbert and Betty Anderson of Sweetwater, TN, sisters, Ella Dennis, Etta Reynolds of Madisonville, TN, Ruby Stehr of Vonore, TN; grandchildren, Douglas King and wife Susie of Bessemer City, Rosemary Queen and husband Leslie of Kings Mountain, Christopher Wright wife Edie of Goose Creek; former grandson in-law, Vance Martin Jr.; step grandchild, Cheryl Smith; great grandchildren, Victoria Martin, Justin Queen, L Cpl. Taylor King USMC, Tylor King, Cecily Wright, Pearl Wright; step great grandchildren, Rebecca Sweeten, Natasha Peterson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband of 37 years, J.P. Bumgardner; daughter, Peggy Freeman; son in-law, Vernon Wright; twin sister, Esta Brackett; sister, Betty Anderson; brothers, Lester, Luther and Ralph Anderson.
