With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Veral Elizabeth Porter, a cherished soul who graced our lives from the gentle shores of North Carolina to the vibrant community of Gastonia. Born on August 22, 1931, Veral's journey through life was a beautiful canvas, painted with love, laughter, and creativity.
As a devoted mother, she leaves behind her beloved son, David Porter, and her cherished daughter, Cyndy Rudd. A proud grandmother to four, and recently blessed with a great-grandchild, Veral's family was her greatest masterpiece. She spent countless hours in her art studio, where her passion for painting brought color to her world and joy to those around her.
Veral's spirit, much like her artwork, will continue to inspire and resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She embraced life with an artist's eye, finding beauty in the simplest of moments, and imparted that love for art and family to her descendants.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April the 4th 2026 at 2:00 Pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, where family and friends will share cherished memories and honor the beautiful life of Veral Elizabeth Porter.
In the gallery of memories, she will forever remain-a masterful blend of love, creativity, and family. Rest in peace, dear Veral; your canvas is complete, but the colors of your spirit will never fade.
Veral was preceded in death by: Husband James Porter, Father Hugh Moore, Mother Sally Moore.
