Vera Dean Summey

Vera Dean Summey, 80, of Cherryville, passed away September 29, 2016 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

She was born November 22, 1935, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Walter F. Boyter and Viola McSwain Boyter.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Marty Summey and wife Renee, Mike Summey and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Chad Summey and wife Jessica, Mitch Summey and wife Jane, and great-grandchildren, Sadie Summey, Aiden Summey; sisters, Shannon Williams, RoseAnn Albright and husband Mike; brother, Curtis Boyter and wife Myrna.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Willis M. Summey.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ken Lane will be held 11am Saturday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
