Vera Louise Calder

Vera Louise Calder, 90, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, NC.

She was born in Gaston County on September 19, 1933, to the late Fred Sherrill and Fannie Jewel Rhodes.

Vera was a member of First Assembly of God in Gastonia. She traveled the world with her husband when he was in the Air Force.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Calder; daughter, Marlyn Bradley; sisters, Linda King and Geraldine Moore; brothers, Steven Sherrill, Ken Sherrill, Bill Sherrill; great-grandson, Daniel Norris.

Vera is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Carver (George), Gail Brooks, Barbara Calder; four grandchildren, Stephen Calder (Jessica), Kim Bradley, Tracey Bradley, Katheryne Freeman; seven great-grandchildren, Bentley Brooks, Cassie Norris, Chase Bradley, Kaylin Bradley, Dawson Calder, Thomas Calder, Gracie Calder.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, 7:00 PM, at Full Circle Ministries, 914 West Carolina Ave., Bessemer City, NC.
