Van Hogue

Van Hogue aka the "Carolina Kid", 63, of Blacksburg, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his home.

He was born September 15, 1953, in Gaston County, son of the late Arey Hogue and Lillie Brooks Hogue.

Van loved all old classic cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Hogue.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Martha Parton Hogue; children, Angel Younce and husband, Jody, Julie Skidmore and husband, Jim, April Dixon and husband, Ricky; step children, Layla Sawyer, David Sawyer and wife, Georgia; sisters, Linda McFee and husband, Kevin, Tammy Buchanan and husband, James; 10 grandchildren: and 1 great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held 3:30 pm on Wednesday at Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Tuesday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
