Tony Ray Whitaker

Tony Ray Whitaker, 65, of Clover, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at his residence.

He was born July 31, 1958, in Plymouth Co, NC, son of the late Alfred Clenard Whitaker and Joyce McNair Whitaker.

Tony was an employee with Mann+Hummell (Wix Corp) for 47 years. He loved to go boating, fishing, and being outdoors, and was a NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lisa Oxendine Whitaker; sons, Ricky Ray Whitaker (Linda Marie), and Travis Anthony Whitaker; daughter, Christy Taylor Renee Whitaker; sister, Bonnie Cloninger; and grandchild, James Alexander Whitaker.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Friday, March 29, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
