Tommy Cecil Clark, 88, of Gastonia, went to his heavenly home, Feb. 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Asheville, NC, son of the late Letcher and Hattie Clark. Tommy was a WWII US Army Veteran who received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Ribbon, and Army Occupation Medal (Japan). He was a faithful member of Love Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Violet Clark; daughter, Marsha Clark; two sisters and one brother. Tommy was a beloved father and grandfather, left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Wanda Haynes and husband Rev. Robert, Sandra Farmer and husband Rev. Fain; brothers, Bill Clark, Eddie Clark; sisters, Gladys King, Polly Fox; grandchildren, Tad McCuen, Dusty Farmer, Mandy Burr, Kristy Williams, Ashley Burgess; and 12 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm Mon. at Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 East Walnut Avenue, Gastonia, officiating Pastor Mike Criswell, Rev. Fain Farmer, and Rev. Robert Haynes. The family will receive friends 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the church before the service. Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
