Tommy Keith Cabe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tommy Keith Cabe, who left this world on April 11, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on November 9, 1959, in Gaston County, NC, Keith devoted his life to serving his community and loving his family. He resided in Gastonia, NC, where he created lasting memories and meaningful connections.

Keith's career was marked by his dedication to public service. He proudly served as a fireman with Crowder Mountain Fire and Rescue, and he notably held the position of fire chief at the Rhyne Volunteer Fire Department. His commitment to fire safety extended beyond his duties as he taught fire safety classes alongside other departments, ensuring the well-being of countless individuals. He work and retired from the City of Gastonia after 30 plus years of working in the Water Department. He concluded his professional journey at the Ranlo Fire Department, where he enjoyed a well-deserved retirement.

In addition to his illustrious career, Keith had a deep passion for trains, a love that he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sherry Huffman Cabe; father, Tommy Cabe; daughters, Sherry Dawn Cabe, Christina Lowder (Jesse), Amanda Sawyer (Jared), and Heidi Adams (Clifton); grandchildren, Dallas, Kobe, Kasey, Jacob, Emily, Carmelo, and Edith; great grandchildren, JT and Krew; brothers, Kim, Kevin and Kendall Cabe; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the love he instilled in those around him.

Keith was preceded in death by mother, Linda Cabe, grandparents, Astor and Bea Parton, Frank and Jesse Cabe.

A visitation will be held in Keith's honor on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC, 28052. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose spirit will remain with us forever. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the same location, followed by a burial at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

As we come together to pay tribute to Keith's life, we celebrate not only his contributions to our community but also the love and joy he brought to his family. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
