Tommy Ballard, 84, of Bessemer City passed away September 22, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born March 6, 1938, in Cleveland County, son of the late Sam Ballard and Ina Schafer Ballard.

Tommy was a US Army veteran.

A funeral service will be held Noon Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro and military honors provided by the US Army and the Gaston County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Tommy is survived by his granddaughters, Shanise Lewis and wife Katherine Lindsey, Katherine Ferry, Candace Smith.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Anne Ballard; son, Michael Ballard; daughters, Debra Ferry and Terry Diaz; sister, Shirley Crowder.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
