Todd Steven Nanney

Todd Steven Nanney, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on February 9, 1961, in Gastonia, NC, Todd lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for music that resonated in the hearts of those around him.

Todd was a proud plant operator in the water treatment industry, where he approached his work with dedication and care. However, it was his time away from work that truly defined him. An old soul in a new body, he had an incredible gift for playing any stringed instrument, often bringing joy to family gatherings with his music. He loved nothing more than sharing his passion with those he held dear.

Family was at the core of Todd's life. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, Susie, and adored his grandchildren-Peyton Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Hayleigh Hudson, and Bayleigh Elrod-who brought him endless joy. He embraced every child he encountered as if they were his own, and his warm heart was a sanctuary for those in need.

Todd found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was exploring the sandy shores of the beach, hiking in the mountains, or seeking out hidden treasures at flea markets. He had an insatiable love for books and took delight in discovering unique and special items. One of his favorite adventures included special trips to Tweetsie Railroad with his family, where laughter and memories were made.

Todd leaves behind his wife, Susie Nanney; brother Robert Nanney; brother-in-law Robin Harris; brother-in-law Scott Harris; brother-in-law Matthew Harris; sister-in-law Sandra Nanney; and his cherished nephews Joshua, Adam, and Calin Nanney. Todd's legacy will also live on through his great-grandson, Cyrus King, who he adored.

A funeral service will be held in his honor on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, located at 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, NC. Family and friends are invited to visit from 3:00 PM prior to the service to share stories, memories, and celebrate Todd's life.

Todd Nanney was a man who loved deeply and lived fully. He will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
