Timothy "Timmy" Donald Whitney, 27, of Dallas, NC, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025.
He was born on October 3, 1997 in Gastonia, NC, to Donald and Joy Whitney.
Timmy grew up in Dallas, NC. He was very compassionate toward everyone. He was always eager to help someone in need. He had a soft spot for animals. Everything he did he led with his heart. He was passionate about nature. He enjoyed stargazing and daydreaming with Grandma Ammons. He enjoyed playing with his nephew Gabe. He never passed up a chance to have sushi. Some of his favorite things were going to the park and hiking. He was an excellent runner. He loved playing video games, listening to rock music and watching anime to pass time. When his Dad would be working he would go out of his way to help tidy the house, make sure the dog had been on a walk and do other chores. He worked hard to get his GED. He is adored for his incredible empathy, intelligence and selflessness. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson and best friend. He led by example. He was loved and showed love like no other soul.
He is survived by his father, Donald Whitney of Dallas, NC; mother, Joy Whitney; sister, Virginia "Ginny" Tack (Richard) of York, SC; grandmother, Margaret Ammons of Mocksville, NC; aunt, Sharon Sterling of Mocksville, NC; uncles, David Whitney (Margaret) of Stafford, VA, and John Mark Ammons (Rachel) of Birmingham, AL; best friend, Zackary Uribe of Dallas, NC; nephew, Gabriel "Gabe" Tack; and his beloved cousins whom he loved dearly.
Timmy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Dawn Whitney; grandfather, Bob Ammons; and his close friend, Jessy Herron of Dallas, NC.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, 11:00 AM, at Promised Land Baptist Church, 1024 Old Modena St. Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
