Timothy Edgar Whetstine, born on July 12, 1956, in North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 68. He was a loving son, brother, and dedicated professional who touched the lives of many.
Timothy was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably before embarking on a career within the federal government as a lead Transportation Security Officer. He retired from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in 2023, after twenty-two years of devoted service. He was a member of Yorkwood Church of God.
His passions included panning for gold, which he cherished as a satisfying and adventurous hobby. However, it was his profound love for his late wife, Dianne, that defined the latter part of his life. The couple shared a bond that was evident to all who knew them. Tragically, Dianne passed away earlier in 2024, leaving a void in Timothy's heart.
Timothy is survived by his father, Edgar Whetstine (Frances); his mother, Annetta Sisler; and his brothers, Daniel Whetstine (Teresa), Scott Whetstine (Laurie), nephews Shawn Lattimore and Joshua Whetstine (Rebekah), niece Erica Sasse. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
To honor his memory the family will host a gathering on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 6 pm - 8 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service 1503 S York Rd. Gastonia. Family and friends are encouraged to join in honoring Timothy's legacy of service, love, and adventure.
May Timothy Whetstine rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Dianne, and may his memory continue to inspire those who knew him.
