Timothy Grady Stone

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Timothy Grady Stone, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on September 15, 2026. Born in North Carolina, Tim brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. He spent his days as a talented HVAC technician in the commercial construction industry, where his sharp mind and skilled hands were always in demand.

Tim was a true country boy at heart, with a love for the great outdoors. His passion for fishing was matched only by his enthusiasm for dirt track racing-a favorite pastime that brought together family and friends on many sunny weekends. Whether he was cooking up a storm (made with love, of course) or sharing stories filled with laughter and love, Tim was the life of the party.

A self-proclaimed "simple man," his culinary skills delighted many, and everyone looked forward to his mouthwatering meals during family gatherings. Tim had a knack for carpentry and mechanics, often helping family and friends tackle projects with his trademark skill and creativity. He was a devoted fan of country and rock music, frequently filling the air with tunes that reflected his lively spirit.

Tim cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his loving daughter Ashley Stone, daughter Jessica Stone, and son Nicholas Yates. He took great joy in being a grandfather to Benjamin Gibson, Samuel Gibson, Landon Miller, and Lucas Miller. Tim also leaves behind his sister Tammy Messer, son-in-law Dustin Miller, son-in-law John Tutterow, and daughter-in-law Madisun Bowers, all of whom will forever keep his memory alive in their hearts.

Tim loved Christmas and made sure every holiday season sparkled with cheer, decorating with the kind of enthusiasm only he could muster. His spirit will continue to shine through the family he adored.

A celebration of life, where family and friends will gather to honor Tim's incredible journey and the joy he brought into this world, will be held Saturday, September 26, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052. We invite everyone whose lives were touched by Tim to join us as we reflect on the wonderful memories we shared together.
