Rev. Thomas Allen Taylor, Jr.

The Rev. Thomas Allen Taylor, Jr., 55, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born August 3, 1960, in Gaston County, son of the late Mary "Tommie" Rogers Taylor and Thomas Taylor, Sr.

Reverend Thomas was a member of North Gaston Church of God in Dallas and was a Church of God minister for over 19 years.

Along with his mother and spiritual mother, Reba Mecum, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Colen and Mary Rogers; paternal grandparents, Rollin and Lou Taylor; and grandson, Landon Thomas Taylor.

Left to cherish his memories, along with his father, are his wife, Ellen Crawford Taylor; sons, Allen Scott Taylor, David Paul Taylor and wife, Shawnda, Eric Thomas Taylor and wife, Chelsea; siblings, Doris Goodson, Shirley McKnight, Lewis Taylor; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Scottie, Noah, Jonah, Samantha, Charlotte, and Callie Taylor.

A funeral service will be held 3pm on Tuesday, at North Gaston Church of God, 1310 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Dallas. Officiating will be Pastor Andy Nicholson, Pastor Ted Smith, and Pastor Joe Heffner.

A visitation will start at 1pm on Tuesday, at North Gaston Church of God and will promptly end at 2:30pm.

Interment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery.
